The Tumble, are a trio of primitive cave bashers from the YYZ (That’s Toronto, for the uninitiated). With one debut single under their belt, they’ve proven themselves to be some serious riffmeisters, and we hope they’re just getting started.
Lady Cadaver is kinda jazzy with a very good, earworm of a riff.
The Plague is an interesting, psychedelic jam, decorated with electric organs in the vein of Deep Purple Mk II.
As a live band they’re fantastic, I happened to catch a show of theirs at Bar L’escogriffe this past Sunday. They performed their two released songs, along with some unfamiliar tracks and a couple great covers.
When a band does a Pentagram cover you’d expect to hear Forever My Queen, but no, Tumble chose to cover Earth Flight, a deep cut off of the First Daze Here compilation. And somewhere in between jams they broke into The Beatles I Want You, that droning, proto-doom riff was an appropriate choice for their set list.
I give Lady Cadaver nine tombstones out of ten.
